Enjoy a staycation at the Brandon Hall Hotel
Holidaying at home and exploring what’s on your doorstep is the perfect solution when you need a break and a change of scenery but can’t face the idea of too much planning, packing and travelling. In the last few years, staycations have become popular with people of all ages seeking some time away to rest and recharge their batteries.
Nestled in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, not far from Stratford-Upon-Avon and Warwick, the Brandon Hall Hotel and Spa has everything you could possibly need for your next staycation. Surrounded by 17 acres of tranquil woodland and private grounds, the hotel is set in an idyllic location, making it an ideal destination for a spa break with the girls, a romantic weekend away or a much needed getaway with the family.

If your idea of rest and relaxation involves playing a round or two of golf, nearby Brandon Wood Golf Course is a championship standard 18 hole course suitable for players of all ages and abilities.
End the day with a relaxing drink in the hotel’s Bewick Bar or enjoy a meal in our elegant Clarendon Restaurant with picturesque views over the surrounding countryside.
The Brandon Hall Hotel and Spa is perfectly situated to enjoy some of Warwickshire’s finest attractions. One of Britain’s best loved castles, Warwick Castle, built by William the Conqueror, is a must visit. Set in 64 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, it’s guaranteed fun for all the family. Take in a live action jousting show, watch the falconry display, explore the adventure maze, book a guided tour or just enjoy some time exploring the castle’s stunning grand interior.
Although not quite as well known as Warwick Castle, nearby Kenilworth Castle and gardens is also worth a visit. Known for its spectacular partially preserved mediaeval castle ruins, Kenilworth Castle is one of the largest historic visitor attractions in the Midlands. Unlike Warwick Castle, it’s rarely overly busy, so visitors can enjoy a peaceful leisurely walk around the delightful recreated Elizabethan garden. A trip to Kenilworth Castle isn’t complete without climbing the tower which was built to woo Queen Elizabeth I. The views are nothing short of spectacular.
The pretty mediaeval market town of Stratford-Upon-Avon is less than 30 minutes away. William Shakespeare’s birthplace is one of the country’s most popular historic towns, with visitors from across the globe keen to walk in the Bard’s footsteps. Visit the house where Shakespeare was born and grew up and experience some of the best live theatre you’re ever likely to see, with daily performances in the garden.
It’s well worth making the time to visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage too. This delightfully charming and pretty 15th century thatched cottage in nearby Shottery is the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife. Set in 9 acres of gardens and woodland, it’s here that the couple’s romance blossomed. The chocolate box cottage is just a short distance from Stratford-Upon-Avon.
No trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon would be complete without watching a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Take a tour to the top of the tower and you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Stratford, the River Avon and beyond.
Many of our overnight breaks include tickets to some of these fantastic local attractions, ask our reservations team when making your booking.
Reasons to take a staycation
The beauty of a staycation is that you don’t need to travel far to have a restful rewarding break. We’ve listed just a few advantages staycations have over vacations.
- Staycations are easier to plan
More often than not, a holiday requires a lot of time consuming planning and a lot of travelling. A staycation not so much. Just back a bag, pop the route into your sat nav or phone app, get in the car and away you go.
- Staycations are more relaxing
With a staycation you can do as little or as much as you want. It’s a great opportunity to rest, relax and recharge. Most people will find them a lot less stressful compared to taking a holiday abroad.
- It’s cheaper compared to a full blown holiday
Jetting off overseas can be really expensive, especially for families. By the time you’ve booked transport to the airport, flights and hotel accommodation it feels like you might need to take out a second mortgage to pay for it! Taking a staycation closer to home certainly won’t set you back anywhere near as much.
- You’re supporting the UK economy
We love a holiday abroad as much as anyone. Mainly for better weather and more sunshine. But we also like the idea of doing our bit to support our own economy. And let’s face it, the UK economy needs all the help it can get right now!
- Explore parts of the UK you’ve never seen before
Okay so it’s not as big as Australia, but we bet there’s quite a few parts of this beautiful country you’re yet to discover. Being a tourist in your own country will give you the chance to explore places you’ve never been to before. And you’ll never be too far away from home.
- Spend less time travelling
If you love exploring new places but aren’t so keen on the actual travel part, a staycation is a great way to cut down on the amount of time you’ll spend travelling. Spending less time in airports is never a bad thing. Plus, you’ll have little to no recuperation time and no jet lag. Unless of course you like that sort of thing.
- Take your pet on holiday too
If you have a dog, travelling abroad can be a nightmare. You either have to organise for family or friends to look after your beloved pooch, book a pet sitter or pay for them to go into kennels. The Brandon Hall Hotel is very dog-friendly. So you won’t have to leave your fur baby behind. After all, they deserve a holiday too!
Whether you’re after some serious you time or family time, if you’re thinking of taking a short break in the UK, the Brandon Hall Hotel is the perfect destination for your next staycation. You can find out more about the hotel’s facilities here.
